2008 Election (anger/hatred)

Nov 5th 2008, 12:15 AM 16 raters

I am sick and tired of all of the hatred being spread by this last election.

Right now, it does not matter who I support.  This is not about which

candidate is better than the other, or how I feel about who won.

This is about all of the hatred, and anger caused by this election, and

what an issue this is for America.  The people of the America are so

restricted by party lines, that they will take whatever is put into their

heads by their own party.  This includes every piece of propaganda

in ads, and through the internet.  Both candidates are decent human

beings, who would do what they thought necessary to protect the

nation.

On another note, the president of one of the most powerful nations

in the world, if not the most powerful, should not be decided on race,

gender, or religion.  They should be chosen according to how they

will lead the country.  I am appalled by the number of people that

decided whether or not to vote for Obama based on the color of his

skin, and based on the rumors that he was muslim.(which shouldn't

have made a difference anyway!)  And by the number of people

chosing their vote based on the fact that Palin is a woman.

Democracy is about getting a nation together, to choose whoever is

best fit to lead, and who will best represent the nation, so we can

handle all the issues that are thrown our way in the next 4 years.

Parties have turned it into a time to chop down any opposition, to

get into office.

This election has done more to split the people, than to help anything.

For the good of the nation as a whole:

"Can't we all just get along?" -Rodney King

I'm a little tired right now, and I could put this a little better, but

hopefully you understand where I'm coming from.  If you feel

like discussing this with me, add my icq( 456189903 ).  I'm not the

most informed person out there, but I like to have intelligent

conversations, which are getting harder and harder to find...
