Artists' Contradictories

May 7th 2008, 07:30 AM 1 raters

Artists who dedicate their life to the art they respect should have such kind of thought: I understand such kind of art I make is above price, because nobody saw it before and I was very satisfied with my creation, but to be a professional artist(illustrator, painter, photographer, even model or musician), I need to have income and value the invaluable creations I make. Now here comes the situation: Isn't it shame to insult the art I respect? Whatever I made, it cost not just my time, but my spirit, emotion, most originality. I know art creations are invaluable, but I still value it? This is really a collision.

The second contradictory is, what kind of art I should make? Creations are acceptant by most people, but not my type? Or just my type, but not acceptant by most people? Well, another conflict between ego ideal and personal profit.

I always think above situations and ask questions to myself, “What is the thing you really want?” Well, those are my own puzzles, and must be solved by myself, too.
