Don't talk about democracy
When I looked over the threads on the biggest local BBS this noon, one thread talking about democracy got hold of my attention. Just when I wanted to say something to response it, the thread was disappeared. Obviously, it's forbidden to talk anything about democracy. However, I never saw there was any rule that told us it's wrong to post any stuff about democracy there.
We all know that people could break the law if they didn't take care of their tongue in the ancient society of China, because there were so many taboos in the feudal society, and it reached its climax in the period of Mao, 1949~1976. My parents have ever told me that it's wise not to talk about anything about Mao. As we know now that the operas of that time were all molded into one style.
More than 30 years have passed since the horrible age, we have thought that we can now talk about anything, but the fact is that we can only talk about anything in private. If you want to fuck in words some political parties or leaders, you just do it in a dirty dark bedroom. If you are in the bright open place, it's better to hold your tongue.
Yes, I don't want to blind the progress of democracy made in the past 30 years, at least we don't worry to be prisoned if we cursed something or somebody. But what's the point if we only talk about it in private ? Oh, that can bring us some pleasure. But I doubt such pleasure can last 10 minutes.
I can't see there is any way out. Perhaps we can expect it when most people are rich. When most people are rich, therefore the government and officials don't need to grab fortune from the public purse, then they only need snatch power, honor, and beauty, or someting like that.
What's the most wanted thing for a hungry slave ? THE FOOD. Most people are now busy to feed their families. If they want to covet something else, their bosses will deprive them of foods. Once people don't worry about their foods, they could do something more.
So, we are told to talk about the breakfast or supper, or making money, everything but democracy.
We greeted each other "Have you eaten?"
Now, we greeted each other "How much do your stockes rise ?"
What time we can greet each other "Who will you vote for ?"
