Last night the guys took the guitar to the pub. We played some stuffs of Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Hendrix, etc. That when suddenly came to our mind a fact that was of common opinion: There are no more rock bands, with musicians and guitar players like at 70's - at least not that we had remembered, in spit of the beer bottles that we had drunk! Hendrix, Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin), Roger Waters (Pink Floyd), Bryan May (Queen), etc. The actual rock bands have emo effeminate, unsexed and star syndrome components! Weird people! Nobody plays babymaker music anymore :( I want to register that we're talking
about Rock Bands and players, because, yes there are, excellent guitar players nowadays, but in blues!
Let's take Hendrix, for example, playing Foxy Lady (Also knew as Foxey Lady, due a spelling mistake at the US version of Are You Experienced printing).
BabyMaker Music!!! It's famous for its alternated riff between F# (and its octave) played with the thumb on the second fret, and the ringing E–A dyad at the fifth fret. It also originated the so-called "Hendrix chord", the dominant G7#9. I can't notice this kind of creative styles at today rock bands!
The lyrics is a interesting kind of woman interaction. "I wanna take you home / I won't do you no harm, no / You've got to be all mine, all mine" - That's hot... That's rock... Pure and good old fashioned 70's rock!
